On Tuesday, Dr. Kim Fierke announced the hiring of Waleed Farid as the new head men’s basketball coach at Hartwick College. Farid emerged from a pool of nearly 200 applicants to become the 19th head coach in the 87-year history of the program. Farid has spent the last seven years serving as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Stevens Institute of Technology. In that time frame, Farid has helped the Ducks to a record of 127-67 and three 20-win seasons. Farid is an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a personal trainer.
