Grand Valley State women’s basketball coach Janel Burgess, who took the Lakers to two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances, submitted her resignation late Wednesday. Burgess guided the Lakers to tournament appearances in 2008-09 and 2010-11, and advanced to the GLIAC tournament six times, with berths in the GLIAC tourney semifinals in 2008-09 and 2014-15.Before coming to Grand Valley State, Burgess spent three years at Missouri State as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
