Current AD Gary Clark, a 1974 graduate of Furman who has served in the role for 15 years, has decided to step down, and will remain at Furman for a period of time to assist in the transition, Davis said. “I felt it was time for a new voice and fresh perspective for Furman’s intercollegiate athletics program,” Clark said. “I have enjoyed being a part of the successful Division I program here, as a former player and administrator, and the relationships with the coaches and student-athletes remain among the most meaningful aspects of my tenure.
