“He was impressed with our basketball program and sees our vision of taking that facility and making it a nicer boutique arena, like a remodeled home, completely redoing the inside and renovating it, making it something we can be really proud of.” – Brian White, FAU AD
The Florida Atlantic University Athletic Department has partnered with Brian Wedding and RoofClaim.com on a $5 Million, 10-year sponsorship to name the RoofClaim.com Arena. White tells CollegeAD the gift will be combined with other gifts to make a new home for the FAU men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams.
“We had a $3 Million gift to rename our court not that long ago, so that started our renovations, and then we had another gift to rename our video board, which should go up for the New Year,” White says. “We are also going to do new locker rooms, new entrances, and the lobby area. The goal is to walk in and see new things throughout, and the hope is that it looks like a new arena on the inside.”
Wedding’s gift will ensure the vision for the arena moves forward.
“We’ve been working with Brain Wedding since September; he came down for our UCF football game. I spent a lot of time with him at that game, went to visit him in Orlando, and really got to know him well. He’s a highly successful businessman and also has a great vision. I think his vision aligns with ours, the fact that we see ourselves as almost a young startup company and things are growing, he kind of sees the same.”
Wedding is the founder/CEO of RoofClaim.com, a company which he has aligned with several reputable and charitable companies and organizations through corporate partnerships. RoofClaim.com is a technology service company specializing in the diagnosing and processing of shingle and tile roof replacement insurance claims through the use of cutting-edge technology, and industry-leading processes.
“We are always looking for partners, but we also saw RoofClaim as a company that’s also spending a lot on sports marketing. We saw they had a partnership with the Dolphins and with UCF, so we know that he is someone who really believes in sports marketing.”
White says it was a team effort, but ultimately it came down to opportunity for both Wedding’s business and FAU.
“Our staff did a great job working with him; he’s been very impressed with FAU as a whole. He’s been trying to break into south Florida. He’s based in Orlando, so this is a great opportunity for him and for us.”
