Dixie State University Director of Athletics Dr. Jason Boothe announced Tuesday the addition of a men’s tennis program, which will begin competition during the 2020-21 season in line with the institution’s move to NCAA Division I status and joining the Western Athletic Conference. With the addition of men’s tennis, DSU will now sponsor 16 intercollegiate athletic programs. “We are very excited to be able to add men’s tennis to our offerings,” Boothe said. “We feel this sport can be very successful here and provides some exciting opportunities for men looking to play at a high level, get a great education and go to school in a fantastic environment with fantastic facilities.” Dixie State will represent the seventh men’s tennis program competing in the WAC and will join Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, UM Kansas City, Chicago State, UT Rio Grande Valley and Seattle as competing members in men’s tennis. Current DSU women’s tennis head coach, Eric Pelton, will also serve as head coach for the men’s team.  – Keric Seegmiller, deseretnews – Read More
