Town meeting approval of a $7 million capital needs spending plan for fiscal 2019 included a $400,000 appropriation for a feasibility study of much-needed upgrades and improvements to Dartmouth Memorial Stadium, a widely used municipal facility under the control of the school department. Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations James Kiely told town meeting members that the capital funding should be considered a “down payment” on a long-planned, multi-million dollar effort to rehabilitate the aging sports stadium beside Town Hall. – Robert Barboza, Southcoast Today.
