Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens is rotating off of the College Football Playoff selection committee after serving as the committee’s chairman for the past two seasons. Having presided over a fascinating time within the Playoff era, Mullens is heading back to his day job as Oregon AD. A few days before Monday night’s championship game, he sat down with The Athletic for an exit interview of sorts about the experience of serving on the selection committee, how his time as chairman fit with his expectations and his perspective on the Playoff’s role in college football as a whole. “I did have high expectations, and I would say just about everything has be’en a phenomenal experience.
