The Nevada and UNLV athletics departments are working with the Mountain West and UNR police department to review the post-game fight that ensued following the Rebels’ 33-30 overtime win over the Wolf Pack. Following UNLV’s game-winning touchdown, a brawl broke out that nearly spilled into the crowd. Nevada athletic director Doug Knuth and UNLV athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois released the following statement after the game. “The events that occurred following today’s football game have no place in college athletics and we are deeply disappointed by this incident, which detracts from what was a hard-fought and emotional football game between our state’s only two NCAA programs,” they said. -Chris Murray, Nevada Sports Net.
