The 2019 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl is scheduled to feature a matchup of teams from the SEC and the ACC, with the American Athletic Conference and Conference USA as backups. The game will take place at Independence Stadium on Dec. 26 at 3 p.m. Beyond that, it’s anybody’s guess. Thursday, the ACC unveiled its bowl lineup for the new postseason cycle (2020-25). Many assumed, and reported, the I-Bowl would a part of the lineup, with the Pac-12 replacing the SEC as the opponent. The I-Bowl, the nation’s 11th-oldest postseason game (43 years), has maintained talks with other conferences and schools, and hopes to reveal its new partnerships soon. “We’re still in discussion with a number of different conferences, and ESPN is assisting us with a couple of different possibilities,” Carmody said. “We hope to know more in the coming days.” In addition to simply securing conference partners for 2020 and beyond, the next move is crucial for Shreveport’s bowl game. – Roy Lang III, shreveporttimes – Read More
