After 5 1/2 years on the job, J. Estevan Vasquez is stepping down as the athletic director at CBC. The 40-year-old submitted his letter of resignation late last week. His final day on the job is Jan. 29. Vasquez, a 1994 A.C. Jones High alumnus, took over as the athletic director in July 2010. In his time as the school’s athletic director, he oversaw the start of the women’s basketball program as well as the return of a baseball program.
