Wednesday night, Kyle McMullin was back in his hometown of Blacksburg to celebrate his father’s retirement. On Thursday, he was back on the job at Christopher Newport University — with a promotion. McMullin, who has served as co-acting athletic director the last 11 months, has officially been given the full-time position. He replaces Todd Brooks, who resigned last June after two years on the job. “This is a place I’ve fallen in love with over the years,” said McMullin, whose first official day on the job will be Monday. “Behind how successful the teams have been over the decades, the university is full of remarkable people. The department has tremendous coaches and staff at every turn. Having the opportunity to lead this group is not only exciting, but also incredibly humbling.” -Dave Johnson, Daily Press- Read More
