Sources tell the Independent Record that Carroll College has offered its vacant athletic director position to University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee associate AD Charlie Gross. Carroll, which has been without a permanent AD since late June after Curt Apsey accepted the same job at Boise State, denies offering the position but did reveal its interest in Gross. “We are still in the process of hiring our next athletic director and, at this time, no candidate has been hired for the position,” the school said in an email. “Charlie Gross is a finalist for the position.
