Mark Lane returns to Cape Fear having spent last season at Hill College in Hillsboro, Texas. Prior to his stint at Hill College, Lane was an assistant coach at Mars Hill University for two seasons. During the 2013-14 season, Lane was influential in helping Mars Hill defeat Division I Furman University. A native of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, Lane spent five seasons roaming the Sea Devil sidelines as the assistant coach. Coach Lane was instrumental in leading the Sea Devils to two Region 10 Tournament Championships, two Regular Season titles, two National Tournament appearances along with an eighth place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas in 2010-11.
