Dr. Dan Bridges, who has successfully led Cal State L.A. Athletics for the past 10 years, has announced he will be retiring as Director of Athletics on December 31, 2015. Bridges, who has more than 25 years of experience as a collegiate athletic director, is leaving the University to explore other opportunities and interests. “I have really enjoyed my time at Cal State L.A. and deeply appreciate all of the support the University has provided throughout the years. I wish to thank our various program sponsors and donors as well as all of the student-athletes, coaches, Division and University administrators, and other campus personnel who have contributed so much to the success of Cal State L.A. Athletics over the past 10 years.” During his time at Cal State L.A., Bridges spearheaded numerous fundraising efforts as well as a successful campaign to establish a student-fee for athletics that more than doubled funding for student-athlete scholarships, team operating expenses, and athletic facility maintenance.
