California Maritime Academy announced Monday that head assistant coach Tony Jones has been elevated to fill the women’s basketball head coaching vacancy. With the promotion, Jones becomes the third women’s basketball coach in the program’s young history. In his two years as Mike Warrington’s head assistant, Jones helped lead the Keelhaulers on a steady path of growth. This past season, the team showed great improvement, finishing with a 13-10 overall record, a second place finish in the California Pacific Conference and qualified for the conference tournament.- Times-Herald Sports.
