Eighth-year Cal Poly men’s basketball head coach Joe Callero completed the program’s support staff for the upcoming season Monday afternoon with the announcement that Kevon Davis has been appointed as the team’s freshly-created director of player development. As a player, Davis was a two-year letterwinner at both West Chester University (West Chester, Penn.) and Harcum College. A native of Upper Darby, Penn., Davis graduated from West Chester in 2010 with a degree in professional studies. Cal Poly, which recorded its highest scoring average in 14 seasons last year and finished 16th among NCAA Division I programs with just 10.3 turnovers per game, is expected to return 10 letterwinners from its 2015-16 squad for the upcoming season.
