The BMCC Athletic Department has named Tommy Guerin as the Head Coach of the Panthers men’s basketball team prior to the beginning of the 2016-17 season. Guerin joined the BMCC men’s basketball staff ahead of the 2015-16 season as an assistant coach. In his first year with the team, he helped guide the Panthers to a 15 win season and CUNYAC Championship appearance. During his tenure as assistant coach, Panthers players received a number of accolades, including NJCAA Player of the Week and two CUNYAC All-Stars. Prior to joining the coaching fraternity, Guerin starred at Brooklyn College where he was a four-year starter and three-year captain. As a guard at Brooklyn College, Guerin earned the 2007 CUNYAC Rookie of the Year and helped lead Brooklyn to the 2009 and 2010 CUNYAC Tournament championships and berths in the 2009 and 2010 NCAA Tournaments.
