Beth Goetz has been named Ball State’s new director of athletics. Goetz will join Ball State in June after serving as the chief operating officer for athletics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) since 2016. She will succeed Mark Sandy, who is retiring. President Mearns said he selected Goetz after a thorough national search, noting her extensive leadership experience, including key positions held at Butler University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Connecticut. “I am thrilled to join Ball State, especially under the leadership of President Mearns,” Goetz said.  “I look forward to joining a great team of student-athletes, coaches and staff. I understand and appreciate the University’s dedication to engaging with the entire community. I can’t wait to be a part of Muncie and East Central Indiana.” –Read More
