Lisa Varytimidis was named associate athletic director at Austin Peay as the school begins the search for a new leader of its sports programs. Varytimidis has been the assistant AD at Louisiana Monroe. She will also serve as senior woman administrator when she arrives on campus June 29. In addition, Austin Peay President Dr. Alisa White announced Tuesday that Varytimidis  will serve as interim AD beginning July 2. Ryan Ivey announced last week he was leaving to become AD at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. APSU is using Collegiate Sports Associates to conduct a national search. Varytimidis has spent the past five seasons in various roles at ULM. In her current role, she is the senior woman administrator and director of compliance. Previously, she had oversight of the indoor and beach volleyball programs and women’s basketball.
