You can’t exactly call Tom Billeter’s introduction to college basketball coaching inauspicious. Billeter was a 23-year-old grad student working a basketball camp down in Arizona. He had actually started with the younger kids and worked his way up to running the entire youth camp. Billeter spent two seasons (1985-87) on Olson’s staff at Arizona, and that catapulted him into college basketball. That’s where it all started.
