This type of thing is becoming a regular occurrence when Auburn wins the Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Once again Saturday night, Auburn’s fans stormed the field following a 48-45 win against in-state rival Alabama. And once again, it was costly for the program, as Auburn was fined $250,000 by the SEC on Monday morning for violating the league’s policy about “access to competition area.” It was the third time in seven years that Auburn has been fined for that violation at Jordan-Hare Stadium and the fourth time overall since that span, including a court-storming at Auburn Arena following an upset win against Kentucky in 2016.
