    • April 25th, 2014— Less than 48 hours after our sources confirmed the news, it was announced today that University President Dr. John Smarrelli, Jr. has appointed Brian Summers as the new Athletics Director. Since December 2010, Summers has been Associate Director of Athletics – Director of External Relations at Lewis University, where he also served from 2005-2010 as Assistant Director of Athletics – Marketing/Promotions Coordinator.

        (D3) University of Wisconsin Whitewater

        • April 25th, 2014—After six months of dissecting the resumes of 50-plus candidates, a UW-Whitewater committee has narrowed the list of finalists for the athletic director position to four. The finalists are: interim AD Amy Edmonds, UW-Milwaukee’s associated AD Charlie Gross, Johns Hopkins University’s senior associate AD Mike Mattia; and Hartwick College AD Kim Fierke. The four finalists will participate in open forums starting Monday from 3 to 4 p.m. -Tom Miller-

            (D2) Ashland University

            • April 24rd, 2014—Athletics Director Bill Goldring announced his retirement today. Goldring is in his 16th year as the AD, and in his 35th year in college athletics administration. With Goldring as the director of athletics, the Eagles have won one national championship, made 64 NCAA postseason team appearances, won 14 NCAA regional championships and claimed 48 GLIAC titles. Goldring will work through the end of the spring semester.

                • April 23rd, 2014—Sources tell College AD that Brian Summers will be named the new Athletics Director. Brian Summers is in his 13th year as a member of the Lewis University Athletics staff, with the last four of those years serving as the Associate Director of Athletics –Director of External Relations.

                    (JC) Frederick Community College

                    • April 21st, 2014—FCC will be conducting interviews for the Athletics Director position this Thursday, next Tuesday, and next Thursday. Face to face interviews, as well as Skype interviews, will be given. The selected candidate will be succeeding Tom Jandovitz, who stepped down last July after 24 years in the position and resumed a full-time teaching position.

                        • April 21st, 2014—Scott Kilgallon has been named director of Athletics at Webster University. For the past decade, Kilgallon has served as director of Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (UWEC). Under Kilgallon’s leadership at UWEC, the institution’s athletic program has ranked in the top 18 during the last seven years among more than 440 Division III schools.

                            (D3) Case Western Reserve University

                            • April 18th, 2014—Amy Backus was named the new Athletics Director today. Backus is currently the Senior Associate Athletic Director at Yale, and she brings with her both 25 years of basketball coaching experience and a decade of experience in athletics administration. She will be the first female to serve in the role in a permanent capacity.

                                (D3) Wittenberg University

                                • April 17th, 2014—President Laurie M. Joyner, Ph.D., has announced Gary Williams as Director of Athletics and Recreation, effective June 1. Williams replaces Garnett Purnell, who retired after 14 years in the position. Williams comes to Wittenberg from Carthage College, where he has worked in a variety of positions since 1997. Currently, Williams serves as director of student success and associate director of athletics at Carthage.

                                   
                                  (D2) South Dakota School of the Mines and Technology

                                  • April 16th, 2014—Joel Lueken, Associate AD from William Jewell College has been named the next athletic director for the Hardrockers! Lueken is currently in his third year as Athletics Director at William Jewell College. Prior to that, Lueken was named Assistant Athletic Director at William Jewell College after entering his fourth season as their assistant baseball coach.

                                      • April 16th, 2014—Sources tell College AD that The search for the University’s next athletic director has been cancelled. We are told the University looks to re-open the search next year.

                                              • April 14th, 2014—Sources tell College AD that the Athletic Director search is down between six to eight candidates. Each candidate will reportedly get a phone call and interview over the next couple of weeks. From there, the search will be narrowed down between three to four candidates, and each of those candidates will receive on-campus interviews.

                                                  • April 11th, 2014—Last week New Mexico Junior College had extended an offer to Jeremy Capo of CSU-Pueblo to become NMJC’s next athletic director. College AD has now confirmed that Jeremy Capo has accepted the offer. The NMJC board will meet next week to officially approve the hire. Capo currently serves as Associate Athletic Director for Development at CSU-Pueblo.

                                                              • April 9th, 2014—A close source told College AD today that Illinois College has narrowed its field of Athletic Director candidates to five, and they are currently working on a timeline to determine how they want to conduct initial interviews. We are also told the College’s president, Dr. Barbara A. Edwards Farley will personally be reaching out to all five candidates.

                                                                  • April 9th, 2014—RMC athletic director Robert Beers recently stepped down citing he had lost his passion for the job. A national search will begin immediately to fill the position. The athletic director jobs officially open.

                                                                          • April 7th, 2014—Clark University President David Angel announced Patricia H. (Trish) Cronin has been named Director of Athletics and Recreation at Clark University. Cronin served as interim director of Athletics and Recreation for the past eight months. Cronin came to Clark in 2010 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and quickly emerged as a leader in the department. She was elevated to Senior Women’s Administrator in 2011 and to Assistant Athletics Director in 2013.
