After 16 seasons in the broadcast booth at Appalachian State, it’s ballgame at The Rock for David Jackson. After going on leave in January to assess his future, Jackson, the Voice of the Mountaineers and an associate athletic director, handed in his resignation in order to pursue a more balanced life. “I spoke with folks in the athletic department last week, and in those discussions, we came to the point where it was time to move on,” Jackson said. “I thank them for allowing me to go off on my own for a few months and get my thoughts together and depressurize a little bit. After those discussions were over, we didn’t come to anything that was going to work for both parties moving forward.
