Long-time West Chester University athletics director, Dr. Edward M. Matejkovic, announced his retirement this morning effective at the end of June 2017. Dr. Matejkovic, the longest tenured AD in West Chester University history, is in his 22nd year as the director of athletics at the NCAA Division II institution having built the Golden Rams’ program into one of the most successful in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), as well as the NCAA Atlantic Region. He is in his 47th year overall as an educator. Matejkovic, who earned his bachelor’s degree from West Chester University in 1969, his master’s degree from WCU in 1975 and doctoral degree from Temple University in 1983, leaves as one of the most decorated athletic directors in PSAC history as well as one of the most involved, both on the conference and national levels.
