Laquanda Dawkins has resigned as women’s basketball coach at Elizabeth City State. According to a news release from the university on Friday, Dawkins stepped down on Wednesday, citing personal reasons. The release added that assistant coach Danny Turner will assume the operations of the women’s basketball program until an interim head coach can be named at a later date.Turner was picked as Dawkins’ assistant coach following her hire by ECSU last September.An ECSU spokesperson said Friday that Dawkins’ resignation also includes her non-coaching position at the university for the upcoming semester. – Malcolm Shields, Daily Advance.
