Florida State athletic director Stan Wilcox’s contract extension has also come with a signficiant promotion. Wilcox, who joined FSU in 2013, has been elevated to “vice president and director of Intercollegiate Athletics” as part of a deal that will keep him at the school through June 2020. His original five-year deal was set to expire in 2018. “We are fortunate to have Stan Wilcox, and this contract extension and promotion to vice president reflects our support and appreciation of the job he and his staff have done and our excitement about the future of Florida State athletics,” school president John Thrasher said in a statement released Friday.
