Brad Duckworth has been named the new director of athletics at UW-Stevens Point. He will begin July 11. Duckworth has served as athletics director and head women’s basketball coach at Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wis., since 2007 and as golf coach the last three years. Prior to 2007, he was the head women’s basketball and softball coach at State University of New York – New Paltz. Duckworth brings with him a strong sense of purpose and Pointer pride, said Chancellor Bernie L. Patterson in announcing the new athletics director today. “He shares our commitment to combining academic excellence with athletic excellence.” Duckworth, 40, succeeds Daron Montgomery, who took a Division II position in New Hampshire in January.
