Leon Costello, previously the deputy athletics director at South Dakota State, was introduced as MSU’s new AD, and he made clear his intention to lift the athletic department to new heights. “Our staff and our coaches and our student-athletes will always represent Montana State University, our athletic department and Bobcat nation in a positive fashion,” Costello told the crowd. “When we do all of those things, which I know we’re going to do, we’re going to win, we’re going to win big, we’re going to win championships.” Costello, 39, will take over Montana State’s athletics department from outgoing AD Peter Fields, whose contract was not renewed.
