Eastern Michigan athletic director Heather Lyke introduced former University of Washington assistant coach Fred Castro as the head coach of the EMU women’s basketball team Monday. EMU interim president. He said he felt as though Castro has the tools to lead the Eagles going forward. Castro, 36, comes to Ypsilanti following a three-year stint in Seattle as an assistant coach with the Huskies, in which Washington posted a 69-35 record and a trip to the 2016 NCAA tournament Final Four.
