University of Minnesota Duluth athletic director Josh Berlo has been selected to head the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s national search for the new WCHA vice president and women’s commissioner. Berlo will chair a six-person search committee, appointed by the women’s Executive Committee. That committee includes Bemidji State University assistant coach Amber Fryklund, University of North Dakota faculty athletics representative Dr. Sue Jeno, University of Wisconsin head coach Mark Johnson, Minnesota State University-Mankato faculty athletics representative Dr. Jeffery Pribyl, and WCHA president and men’s commissioner Bill Robertson. “It was an honor to be nominated and selected as the chair of the committee and I look forward to working with this impressive group to identify the best person as our next WCHA Women’s Hockey Commissioner,” said Berlo. “Given the growth and popularity of women’s hockey reaching new heights, this is an incredible opportunity and responsibility for the WCHA — the nation’s premier collegiate league — to play a prominent role in leading the sport’s continued development and advancement.” Read More
