The Merrimack Athletic Department announced that head men’s basketball coach Bert Hammel will step down and not return for the 2016-17 season. A search for his successor will begin immediately. Hammel concluded his 36th season in 2015-16 as head coach of Merrimack with 526 career wins, 13th among Division II active coaches and 40th all-time in Division II. – HoopDirt. Read More.
