Syracuse basketball’s run to the Final Four has led some national analysts to call this Jim Boeheim’s best coaching job. Forty years after Boeheim first took the whistle as head coach, he has shown he’s still more than capable of leading a program among the nation’s elite, raising an interesting question about his future. Could he continue coaching beyond the 2017-18 season, the year he pinned as his last in the aftermath of a length NCAA investigation?Remember, the agreement was made between Boeheim and Syracuse officials, but that group did not include athletic director Mark Coyle, who was hired three months after the retirement plan was announced.
