The University of New Mexico has fired its women’s basketball coach Yvonne Sanchez after five years of being head coach. This comes after a 17-15 2016 season, capped off by a loss to Weber State in the WBI. Sanchez finished her career with a 77-81 overall record, but is still shocked after learning at 9 a.m. on Friday that she was fired. “I can accept being fired, just the way it was handled is just mind boggling to me.
