After spending 38 seasons coaching on the hardwood, Western State Colorado University Women’s Basketball Head Coach Van Girard announced his retirement, effective immediately. Western Athletics is hosting a Mountaineer Athletic Association (MAA) social at 5:30 p.m. on March 14 at Black Stock Bistro in honor of Girard. Girard spent the past four seasons as Western’s head coach after spending 24 seasons at the helm of the Cal State Dominguez Hills women’s basketball program. Read More.
