University of Louisville athletic director Tom Jurich said Thursday he has approached football coach Bobby Petrino recently about extending Petrino’s contract, saying he wants to reward “Bobby 2.0” for the way the coach has displayed leadership and a long-term commitment to U of L during his second tenure with the school. Jurich said he has been impressed more than ever these past two years with Petrino, who previously coached at Louisville from 2003-06. The Cards have gone 9-4 and 8-5 in his first two seasons, and Jurich said he believes Petrino, who during his first U of L tenure was a candidate for multiple other jobs before eventually leaving for the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons, remains committed to Louisville for the long term. -Steve Jones, courier-journal.com– Read More
