Rusty Kennedy is resigning as Western New Mexico University women’s basketball coach immediately to pursue the athletic director’s position at Midway (Ky.) Universith, the school announced on Monday. WNMU Hall of Famer and current men’s basketball assistant coach Matt Enriquez will assume interim duties as the head women’s basketball coach. Including his 5-5 season so far this year, Kennedy completes his WNMU career with a 35-56 mark. The team built on that success and in the next year Kennedy led the team to 11 victories.
