Matt Tanney, interim director of athletics at Western Illinois University, has been invited to interview for the director of intercollegiate athletics Tuesday, Dec. 22. Tanney has served in his current role since May 2015. He directs day-to-day operations of the WIU Athletics Department; leads and supervises athletics personnel; and manages external operations, including media services, donor development and fundraising, corporate sponsorships and marketing and promotional efforts. Previously, he was the deputy director of athletics (2014-2015) and the associate director of athletics (2012-2014) at Western, and he was the director of compliance for the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department, director of compliance for the University of Dayton Athletics Division, compliance coordinator for The Ohio State University Athletic Department and National Federation of State High School Associations law clerk. –Read More
