Brenda Hampton’s impressive 14-year run as the athletic director and 28 years overall at the school will end on June 30. The 55-year-old will accept the school’s early retirement incentive package. “It was a hard decision, because I bleed Reiver Blue,” she said. “It’s been my life for almost 30 years, and to think that I won’t be part of this or coming here is quite emotional, really.” Under Hampton’s watch, Iowa Western athletics have exploded.
