TULANE UNIVERSITY

Sources have informed College AD that interviews for Tulane’s open athletics director position will begin as early as this week but we were assured they will occur within the next 14 days. College AD has learned of five candidates that Tulane search committee chair Doug Hertz and his team have targeted.

[UPDATE 2:14 p.m.] Sources have detailed Mike Alford is not a candidate for the Tulane athletic director job.

[UPDATE 8:03 p.m.] Danny White has been hired by Central Florida.

Michael Alford- Senior Associate AD, University of Oklahoma

Dave Benedict- Chief Operations Officer, Auburn University

Barbara Burke- Deputy Athletic Director / Chief Operating Officer, Tulane University

Scott Sidwell- Athletic Director, University of San Francisco

Danny White- Athletic Director, State University of New York Buffalo

College AD has also learned that there is an internal push for current Tulane COO Barbara Burke to be named the next Green Wave athletic director. Danny White interviewed Monday for the Central Florida athletics director position and sources tell us that White is the leading candidate in that search. College AD will keep you updated as we are expected to learn more on the status of the search this week.
