Longtime Illinois Valley Community College softball Coach Cory Tomasson has been appointed the college’s Athletics Director, Mark Grzybowski, Associate Vice President for Students Services, announced. Tomasson served as Interim AD for 14 months following the resignation of men’s basketball Coach and Athletics Director Tommy Canale in July 2014. A 17-year softball coach, he has taught speech at the college since 1994 and has overseen IVCC’s student clubs and organizations — now numbering over 40 — as coordinator of student activities since 1997. He earned an associate degree from Illinois Central College in East Peoria, bachelors from St. Ambrose University and master’s in communication from Illinois State. – The Times, Read More
