Mercer University has announced plans to add another upgrade to Hawkins Arena. A state-of-the-art sound system will be installed for the 2015-16 men’s and women’s basketball seasons. Hawkins Arena, the 3,200 seat stadium that opened in 2005, is home to one of the best atmospheres in the Southern Conference. The new sound system will be in place before the season-opening men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader on Friday, Nov. 13. The women will host Coastal Georgia at 5 p.m. and the men will follow with a game against Allen at 7:30 p.m.
