Karen Stromme introduced Mandy Pearson as the new Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball coach on Tuesday. Pearson, 32, comes to UMD after turning around the women’s basketball program at St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minn. In eight seasons as head coach, she compiled a 102-107 record, but an unprecedented 64-18 record over the last three seasons. Pearson is from Watkins, Minn., and played college basketball at Concordia Moorhead, where she was a three-time all-MIAC selection and the first player in program history to achieve 1,000 points and 500 assists in a career. – Jon Nowacki, InForum, Read More
