Jessica Kern, a former head coach at NCAA Division II member Lincoln (Pa.) University, has been hired as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Furman University, the school announced. Kern spent the past four seasons at Lincoln — including to a school-record 22 wins during the 2014-15 season, when she was selected Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association coach of the year. She replaces Julia Huddleston, who resigned after five seasons at Furman to become the head coach at Division II Lynn (Fla.) University on June 24.Kern also has coached at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
