Lackawanna College didn’t have to go far to find its next women’s basketball coach. Throop native and Misericordia graduate Kayla Sileo will move from assistant coach to head coach, replacing Joya Whittington, who stepped down last month to take an assistant coaching position with Division I Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Sileo, a Holy Cross High School graduate, played for Misericordia from 2009-13. In 109 games, she averaged 4.4 points per game and also grabbed 217 rebounds, recorded 50 steals and handed out 77 assists. – Shane Hennigan, Citizens Voice. Read more.
