Andrew Brown, a former head basketball coach at St. Andrews, has been hired as an assistant at Winston-Salem State. Brown is the newest assistant for Coach James Wilhelmi, who had two assistant coach openings to fill. Brown resigned after three seasons at St. Andrews where he went 16-58. This past season he had his best record at St. Andrews as the Knights, an NAIA school, went 9-14 and 6-12 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference. During his playing career at Mercer Brown, who is from Pontiac, Michigan, averaged 15.5 points his senior season. – John Dell, Winston-Salem Journal. Read more.
