The Yale women’s basketball team and Class of 1954, Joel E. Smilow head coach Allison Guth have announced the hiring of Melissa D’Amico as an assistant coach for the 2015-16 season, the first addition to Guth’s staff for the upcoming season. D’Amico, a former women’s basketball player at Notre Dame under legendary coach Muffet McGraw, comes to Yale after most recently completing a two-year stint as assistant coach for the Colgate women’s basketball team. During her coaching tenure with the Raiders, the 2014-15 team enjoyed the best season since Colgate’s 2003-04 Patriot League championship team, going 7-11 in the league.
