UCF has named football coach George O’Leary interim athletic director, two sources confirmed to the Orlando Sentinel. He replaces outgoing athletic director Todd Stansbury, who recently accepted the job at Oregon State effective August 1st. O’Leary is expected to retain his football coaching duties in addition to leading the athletic department. O’Leary, 68, enters his 12th season leading the Knights. Since joining UCF, he helped capture the Knights first BCS bowl game victory and back-to-back American Athletic Conference championships.
