The University of Akron has selected Nathan J. Mortimer to serve as its interim director of athletics, the university announced in a news release Friday. Mortimer assumes the position after the resignation of Tom Wistrcill, who left for Learfield Sports. He is the school’s vice president of finance and administration and chief financial officer.
