Orlando Vandross hired as assistant coach at UVA basketball. Vandross’ first coaching experience came with Massasoit Community College in 1996, where he served as an assistant coach for one season. He impressed enough there to land a spot on the Boston University coaching staff the next season, where he stayed for the next 13 seasons, working all the way up to associate head coach. In his 17 years with Boston University and Charlotte, he had two NCAA Tournament appearances and four NIT Tournament appearances, all of which ended in a first round loss. –
