Milton Richards has resigned as SFU’s senior director of athletics and recreation. Richards joined SFU in November, 2011, and by the following September the NCAA had approved its full membership in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The school’s sports teams had competed for the previous two years as provisional members which allowed them to play for conference championships but they couldn’t compete for national championships. During that time several SFU track and field athletes won GNAC championships and the men’s soccer team won two conference titles. – Burnaby Newsleader. Read more.
